Nobody Books Accommodation?

All accommodation has rooms and beds so unless yours are really, really special, who cares?
So don’t waste your money advertising your rooms. It’s probably on your website anyway.

So think like your customer. Where they want to go and what they want to do is far more important to them and because everybody has to stay somewhere, accommodation is a necessary add-on. Nobody books accommodation just for the sake of it.

So, to get people to stay at your place you have to get found and the best way to do this is to be helpful, and the more helpful you are, the more likely they will stay on your website, and that’s where you tell them how great your accommodation is.

Say how beautiful your area is, what goes on, what visitors can do and what special deals you’ve arranged with local businesses, restaurants, pubs, taxis etc.  Do you offer bikes, or does someone nearby?
And don’t forget convenience. It’s high on everyone’s list these days.

Instead of saying you have beautifully furnished rooms with comfortable beds, promote your area because when you’re helpful you’re already half way to getting them to stay with you.

So don’t compete with other hotels, hostels, B&Bs or whatever. Get people to visit your website. That’s where you do your selling.

Don’t be lucky, be clever.
